As you probably already guessed, today's dinner-theme was Cuba. As none of us knew much about cuban cuisine (rum? cigars?) we had to turn to internet for help. 3 guys from Miami came to our aid as well as tasteofcuba.com
Three guys teached us how to make empanadas - filled pastries. We chose two different fillings - cheese-chicken and shrimp. It was easy to make them and they tasted ok, but nothing special to write home about. But even Tristan and Enric ate their share without any complaints. And that's really something.
For main course we chose Pollo Rancho Luna - you can guess why that particular meal ;) . This I really liked. The sauce was sour and a the meat was soft and delicious. Nice dish with a nice name.
For dessert I baked a cake - Cuban Banana Rum Custard Tart - superb. I especially liked the crust - with tiny pieces of nut. That's a cake I will definitely bake again sometime soon.
The special thing about todays dinner was the fact that Luna sat at the dinner table on her own chair with the rest of us. And had dinner too. A special dish though...
For the next time we have very exiting arraingement. Namely the whole dinner - english - will be cooked by the gentlemen. The try to prove that they are at least as good cooks as the next man... or us. Good luck!
