Sherlock's here. Actually he arrived on monday, but they made me wait the whole day and a half to watch it. A day and a half more guessing how the situation in the end of the season will solve itself. All sorts of heroic and clever scenarios crossed my mind... But not this, not even close. And I can bet that non of the fans thought of the right answer. Pure genius this one, so absurd, so ironic, so unexpected. "Sorry, wrong day to die". Just so.
In my opinion, Sherlock is not your typical TV series. Firstly of course the length of the episodes but more importantly the quality, attention to the details. Sherlock was full of delightful sarcasm, twists and tiny but oh-so-inspiring details. You have to watch it several times to get them all. And it never gets boring. On the contrary. And also beautiful spot-on soundtrack. That reminds me, must order it from Amazon.
The first one - Scandal in Belgravia - was the funniest of episodes so far. Many laugh-out-loud moments.
More mrs. Hudson. In series one she was just a pleasant landlady but this time she was sort of surrogate mother for Sherlock and Dr. Watson. It was so cute how Sherlock and John bellowed at Mycroft when he told Mrs. Hudson to shut up.
And also more Mycroft. He is one of the three great theatrical speakers here, together with Sherlock and Moriarty. Loving it.
Lara Pulver as Irene Adler was astonishing. The One He Could Not Read. The Woman who beat Sherlock, with one stupid weakness... I keep wondering, that if she hadn't told Sherlock about her connection with Moriarty... maybe he wouldn't have had this final mental outburst that solved the mystery of the camera phone.
Compared to the first series, Sherlock has become more human, he even seems to have some soft emotions. The situation where the CIA thugs hurt Mrs. Hudson - oh the rage and the joy of revenge
And with Molly - apologizing after hurting her feelings over the Christmas present - it was something completely new. Also, there was a second apology for the history of SH "I don't have friends ...."
As with the first series, also here the second episode was the weakest of all. And I so loved the original Hound of Baskerville...
Laters!
